Located in Austin, near Texas State Capitol, the Bullock Texas State History Museum
invites you to experience the great Storyof Texas through its exhibits, original films and exclusive encounters. The
Museum is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm, except for Sundays when the program starts at noon and for official holidays when the Museum is closed. The
general price for entering the exhibits is $12 but students and seniors/military with ID pay $10 and youth from 4 to 17 years only have to pay $8. If you plan to visit the Museum with your kids, you should know that on most weekends different programs are organized for families with children between 4 and 12 years old. Group tours should be reserved with at least 10 working days in advance and a deposit needs to be paid if the group reservation includes the IMAX Theatre or Texas Spirit Theatre. Groups over 20 persons can get standard or customized guided tours, discounts at the exhibits and theatre and also in The Story of Texas Café.
If you get hungry while visiting this huge and intense Museum, you should know that The Story of Texas Café, located at the second floor, serves hot and cold meals daily from 10 am to 3 pm and only beverages and snacks from 3 to 5 pm. Tour groups can order in advance.
This Museum tells you the “Story of Texas” through three floors of exhibits where you can see historical artefacts, recreated historical environments and multimedia materials. The Museum is equipped with an IMAX theatre able to accommodate 400 persons and it provides a unique film experience. Popcorn and beverages can be purchased in the theatre’s Lobby. Moreover, Texas Spirit Theatre is a regular cinema that, in this context, screens movies about the amazing history of Texas while featuring some surprising special effects that will make the visitors feel smoke and wind and their seats shaking during a memorable learning experience.
